Built like an agency.
Delivered in days.
Websites, web apps, online shops, mobile apps, AI systems and bespoke software — twelve years of production engineering for insurers, banks and high-traffic retailers, run through AI-assisted development that turns a quarter's work into a fortnight's.
What I build, in one paragraph.
TSMW Development is a UK software studio run by Thomas Watson, a senior engineer with 12 years building production systems across insurance, fintech, eCommerce and energy. It delivers 14 services — business websites, booking systems, online shops, web apps and customer portals, mobile apps, real-time 3D, AI chatbots and agents, AI integration, SEO and GEO, lead-generation systems, bespoke software, legacy migrations, technical consultancy, and ongoing hosting and support. The difference is pace: AI-assisted development removes the repetitive volume that used to need a team, so builds that agencies quote in months ship in days, at a fraction of the price, without dropping the engineering standards those industries demanded.

Websites & shops
Websites & shops
The public-facing side of your business: a site that gets found and converts, bookings taken while you sleep, and a shop that handles payments properly.
Business websites
A site that turns visitors into enquiries — live in days.
Fast, modern websites built to be found and to convert: clear messaging, easy to update, quick on a phone. Landing pages ship in 72 hours and full sites in days, because AI-assisted development removes the grind — not the engineering standards.

Let customers book and pay online, day or night.
Online booking that fits how your business really runs — availability, deposits, payments, reminders, and no double-bookings. Customers book themselves in while you get on with the work.
Learn morefrom £500Online shops & payments
Sell online, take payments, get paid reliably.
Product pages, checkout, discounts, subscriptions and secure card payments — built to convert and to survive a busy day. I built the payments system and discounts engine inside one of the UK's larger online beauty retailers; your shop rests on the same engineering.

Apps & platforms
Apps & platforms
When a website isn't enough — software people log into and use. Portals, platforms, mobile apps and real-time 3D, built to the standard I'd ship for a bank.
Web apps & platforms
Software your customers log into — in weeks, not quarters.
Searchable databases, customer portals, dashboards, marketplaces and community platforms, with accounts, permissions and payments built in. I've shipped an entire trading platform — 6,376-item catalogue, peer-to-peer trading, live data feeds — within days of starting, against quotes measured in months.
Learn moreMobile apps
One build, live on the web and in the app stores.
Android and iOS apps built from the same codebase as your web app, so you're not paying to build the same product twice — push notifications, offline use, in-app payments, and a real listing in both stores.
Learn more3D & interactive experiences
Configurators, virtual tours, and things people remember.
Real-time 3D that runs in an ordinary browser with nothing to install: product configurators, virtual tours, interactive visualisations. I built the real-time 3D tours of the EU Parliament, delivered across 24 languages.

AI & automation
AI & automation
AI that does real work: answering customers around the clock, grounding answers in your own documents, and taking whole jobs off your plate.
AI chatbots, assistants & agents
Answer questions and capture leads 24/7.
A smart assistant on your website that answers your customers' common questions, qualifies enquiries, and books people in — even at 2am. Trained on your business, with a clear hand-off to you when it matters.
Learn morefrom £250AI integration & agents
Put AI to work inside your business — properly.
More than a chatbot: AI wired into how your business actually runs. Answers grounded in your own documents (RAG), agents that carry out whole tasks in your real tools (MCP), classifiers that sort and route work automatically, and — where it matters — AI that runs privately on your own kit. Built by an engineer who ships AI systems for a living.

Growth & visibility
Growth & visibility
Being online isn't being found. Getting you into Google results and AI answers, then turning that traffic into enquiries you can track.
SEO & GEO
Get found on Google — and in AI search.
Help the right customers find you when they're searching — both on Google (SEO) and in AI tools like ChatGPT and Google's AI answers (GEO). One project I built hit number one on Google for its category inside its first week and was serving 5,000 visitors a day.

Turn your website into a steady stream of enquiries.
The system behind the site: landing pages, forms, follow-up emails, and tracking that turns visitors into booked calls — and shows you which efforts are actually bringing in customers.

Bespoke & rescue
Bespoke & rescue
The hard problems: software built exactly around your process, ageing systems modernised without downtime, and stalled projects taken over and finished.
Bespoke software & automation
Custom tools for how your business actually works.
When off-the-shelf software almost fits but fights you on the rest, I build the missing piece — internal tools, dashboards, integrations, and automations that connect your systems and remove manual admin. Twelve years of enterprise engineering, delivered at a small-business price and pace.
Learn moreLegacy system migrations
Move off the old system without losing what works.
That ageing system your business depends on — the one nobody dares touch — carefully understood, its data rescued, and rebuilt on modern foundations. Migrated in stages, running alongside the old one until you trust it, so the business never stops.
Learn moreTechnical consultancy & project rescue
Senior engineering judgement, on tap.
Architecture and technical reviews, roadmaps, quotes and developers sanity-checked, and stalled or inherited projects picked up and finished. I've run 360 technical reviews and solution architecture for clients across the UK, Sweden and Germany, and re-architected platforms for scale.

Care & support
Care & support
Once it's live, it stays live — hosting, monitoring, backups, updates and changes, handled by the engineer who built it.
How it usually fits together
Most projects are two or three of these.
You don't need to pick the right label. Describe the problem and you'll get the shortest path to fixing it — often smaller than expected.
Get found and win more work
A site built to convert, tuned so Google and AI assistants can find and quote it, with the follow-up system that stops enquiries going cold.
Stop doing it by hand
The manual admin mapped, automated and wired into the tools you already use — with AI handling the sorting, chasing and answering.
Launch a product
An idea taken from nothing to a live platform with accounts and payments, in the app stores, selling — fast enough to learn from real users.
The engineering behind it — teams I've delivered for
Before you get in touch
The questions everyone asks first.
How can one developer build all of this?
Two reasons. First, 12 years of production engineering across insurance, fintech, eCommerce and energy — payments systems, claims platforms, microservice re-architectures, real-time 3D — so the breadth is real experience, not a service list. Second, AI-assisted development: I use AI tooling deep in the build process, which collapses the repetitive work a team used to absorb. What's left is senior judgement — architecture, security, and knowing what not to build — applied far faster than a traditional agency can.
How fast can you actually deliver?
A landing page is typically live within 72 hours. Full marketing sites take days. A complete platform — accounts, database, payments, live data — has gone live within days of starting: OSRS Card Exchange was quoted at months elsewhere, shipped in days, and was serving 5,000 visitors a day in its first week. Bigger bespoke and migration work is staged so you see working software in the first couple of weeks, not at the end.
Does building fast mean cutting corners?
No — speed comes from removing waste, not tests. The same fundamentals go in every build: proper architecture, security, performance, error handling and documentation, of the kind I've shipped for insurers and banks where downtime wasn't an option. What's gone is the overhead: coordination meetings, hand-offs between specialists, and hand-writing boilerplate an AI can generate under review.
Which service do I actually need?
Most projects combine two or three — a website that also takes bookings and ranks locally, or a web app with an AI assistant wired into it. You don't need to pick the right label. Describe the problem in plain English and you'll get an honest recommendation for the shortest path to fixing it, even when that's smaller than you expected.
What does it cost?
Landing pages and websites start at £500, booking systems and lead-generation systems at £500, AI chatbots at £250, and SEO from £200. Ongoing hosting, care and support runs from £50 a month for the base plan, with usage-based infrastructure — caching, edge functions, bandwidth, storage — billed on top at cost. Larger builds — platforms, bespoke software, migrations — are day-rate with a two-week minimum, always with a fixed written quote after a free scoping call. Because the delivery model is one senior engineer with AI leverage rather than an agency payroll, the same scope typically lands well below agency pricing.
Do you work with businesses outside the UK?
Yes. The work is delivered remotely as standard, and there are clients and projects across the UK, Europe, Australia and the US — including banking work delivered on contract in Melbourne and eCommerce consultancy across the UK, Sweden and Germany. Time zones are a scheduling detail, not an obstacle.
Who owns the code and can I take it elsewhere?
You own it. Everything is documented and handed over so another competent developer could pick it up — no proprietary black box, no lock-in. Ongoing support is available because it's useful, not because you're trapped.
Tell me what you need built.
A free 30-minute call. You'll get an honest answer on whether it's worth building, roughly what it takes, and how fast it can be live.
No deck. No drip campaign. One reply.
